Verbatim vs. clean non-verbatim

Spoken audio

"Um, I-I think we should, you know, probably move the meeting to Thursday. No, sorry, Friday."

I think we should move the meeting to Friday.

Clean non-verbatim transcription removes unnecessary filler, repetition and false starts while preserving meaning. It does not summarize, rewrite or intentionally change the substance of what was said.

03

Quote, payment and deposits

After reviewing the project details and, where appropriate, a recording sample, Amber will issue a written quote. A 50% deposit is required before work begins, with the balance and any approved additional charges payable before release or dispatch. A quote may be revised if the full recording differs materially from the information provided.

Payment is accepted by Interac e-Transfer. Autodeposit is enabled, so no security question is required -- include your name or invoice number in the transfer message. Outstanding balances are subject to interest at 2% per month (24% per annum).

04

Deliverables

Unless otherwise agreed, completed transcripts are supplied as a Microsoft Word document and searchable PDF, together with a signed Certificate of Accuracy confirming that the transcript is, to the best of Amber’s skill, ability and understanding, a true and accurate transcription of the audible content of the recording provided.

The certificate does not authenticate the original recording, verify speaker identities, confirm that the recording is complete or unaltered, or provide forensic audio analysis.

05

Limitations

General transcription does not include audio repair, recording authentication, forensic analysis, guaranteed speaker identification or guaranteed recovery of inaudible speech.
