PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Keystrokes by Amber collects through this website, why, and how it is handled. It is written in plain language rather than formal legal language; Amber is not a privacy lawyer, and this is general information rather than legal advice.

01

What we collect

When you submit an order, quote request, or appointment request, we collect the information the relevant form asks for: your name, email address, phone number, and details about the transcript, recording, or document involved. For court transcript orders, this includes court file and proceeding details. For general transcription, this includes information about the recording’s content and format. For notary requests, this includes document type and appointment preferences.

We do not collect payment card information -- payment is by Interac e-Transfer, arranged directly between you and Amber.

02

Why we collect it

Solely to review, quote, and complete the order or appointment you’ve requested, and to contact you about it. We don’t use anything you submit for marketing, and we don’t sell or rent client information to anyone.

03

Where it's stored

Submitted information is stored in a database on the infrastructure hosting this website. Outgoing email related to your order is sent through our email provider. We don’t use third-party advertising trackers, and this site does not run analytics or tracking cookies on visitors browsing the public pages.

04

Confidentiality and review

Submitting a form creates a request for Amber to review -- it is not a confirmed order, and (particularly for court matters) is not privileged or confidential communication with a lawyer or paralegal until Amber has accepted the matter and a proper retainer, if applicable, is in place. Avoid including sensitive case details beyond what a form specifically asks for; where a form invites it, you can simply indicate that a matter is sensitive and provide detail directly to Amber afterward.

05

Retention and deletion

Client and order records are retained for as long as needed to complete the work, maintain business records, and meet any applicable professional or regulatory retention requirements. Specific retention periods for recordings and completed transcripts are being finalized -- if you have a question about how long your information will be kept, contact Amber directly and she can confirm. You can ask at any time whether we hold information about you, and request correction or deletion where we’re not required to keep it.
